How We Pack and Ship Cleanroom Panels Overseas

Protective film, crating and container loading for export — every panel arrives flat, clean and ready to install.

Cleanroom panels packed for export

Cleanroom sandwich panels are big, flat and surprisingly easy to damage in transit. A scratched face sheet, a dented corner or a bent edge is not just cosmetic — it can break the airtight seal of a cleanroom and fail your particle count test. So for us, packaging is not an afterthought. It is the last quality control step before your order leaves the factory.

Step 1: Protective film on every face

Each panel is covered with a protective PE film as soon as it comes off the line. The film stays on through packing, loading and shipping, and the installer peels it off on site. This single step prevents 90% of the scratches you normally see on imported panels — especially on color-coated surfaces where even a hairline mark is visible.

Step 2: Bundling with corner protectors

Panels are stacked face-to-face in tight bundles. The stack is protected at every corner with rigid cardboard or plastic corner protectors, and wooden spacers separate each bundle from the container floor so moisture from the floor never touches the steel. This is the same practice used by European and Japanese panel plants — there is no reason to ship panels in a cheaper way.

Step 3: Steel strapping and crating

Each bundle is tightened with steel straps so the stack cannot shift during the voyage. For sea freight we add wooden crates around vulnerable bundles — doors, window frames, pass boxes and any pre-cut special sizes always travel in crates. Standard flat panels travel in strapped bundles, which keeps the total volume (and your freight cost) lower.

Step 4: Container loading

Loading is planned against the container dimensions, not done by guesswork. A 40ft container typically holds around 1,500–2,000 m² of 50mm panels — the exact figure depends on panel width, length and thickness, and we confirm it in the proforma invoice before you pay. Bundles are loaded upright and wedged so nothing moves, even in rough weather. We photograph the loaded container before sealing it, so you have evidence of the condition at departure.

Step 5: Export documentation

We handle the full export package: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and, where required, test certificates for fire rating and steel coating. You receive the documents together with the shipping notice, and we keep track of the vessel for you until delivery. We quote FOB, CIF or DDP — for DDP we also arrange customs clearance and inland delivery on your side, so the price you see is the price you pay.

What this means for your project

When you buy cleanroom panels from ZY, you are not buying loose sheets in a container — you are buying panels that arrive ready to install, with no surprises. No scratched faces, no crushed corners, no missing documents. That is how we keep long-term customers, and it is how your cleanroom project stays on schedule.
